Um,hello

Websites with a point.

Strategy, copy, design & build. For businesses with something to say.

Give your business
a big mouth.

A new business, a tired website, a launch that needs its own little corner of the internet. We get into the idea, find the words, and build the thing.

Poke around. This site is the specimen.

We deliver innovative digital solutions.

Websites with
a point.

Actual words. Imagine that.

Copy.

Words that sound like your business. Clear messages, useful details, a reason to keep reading. A personality is welcome. Corporate word soup can wait outside.

Kristian.

If it sounds like a quarterly report, we’re not done.

It started with hello.

Lightspeed, 2020. Kiki was all business. Kristian insisted on saying hello. They became friends, learned to argue like it was the end of the world, and kept making up. Now they make websites together.

Ink caricatures of Kristian and Kiki exchanging a knowing look.

Kristian.

Kiki.

Kristian.

Creative direction, copy, design & build.

A two-time college dropout and a hopeless romantic. “Maybe this time…” is less a passing thought than a working philosophy. Kristian sees what an idea could become before he sees the reasons to leave it alone. He brings the concepts, the words, and a frankly unreasonable attachment to getting the little things right.

Occasionally knows when to stop.

Kiki.

Sales, business & operations.

An accountant who doesn’t know when to cut her losses. Which goes some way toward explaining Kristian. Kiki handles sales, business and operations, and the moment when “what if” needs an actual plan. She asks the questions he was hoping to skip, gives as good as she gets, and keeps showing up for the next round.

Occasionally lets him finish.

The argument is usually about the idea. The point is always to make it better.

We’ll talk. You can interrupt.

A clear plan.
Strong opinions.

Four useful conversations. Several strongly held opinions.

We talk.

You tell us what’s happening, what’s missing, and what the site needs to do. We ask the questions that make the brief useful.

Kiki. What does it need to do?

A brief. Miracles do happen.

Ask. We can
take it.

A few answers. A few unsolicited opinions.

Is this just a one-page thing?
Kristian.

It can be. We make landing pages, microsites and focused small-business websites. The page count follows the job, rather than the other way around.

Reception.

The page count is not a personality test.

Do I need to bring the words?
Kristian.

Bring what you have. Strategy and copy are part of what we do. We’ll need your knowledge, feedback and accurate business details.

Reception.

Please don’t send “synergy” and leave us alone with it.

Can we do this in English and French?
Kiki.

Yes. English, French… and even Greek (έκπληξη!). Each language gets to sound like itself. We agree on the languages and content in the project scope. Γεια σου!

Reception.

Three languages. Still only two people to argue with.

What about revisions?
Kiki.

We agree on feedback stages and revision rounds in the scope. Extra work can be discussed. An endless revision loop is not a business model.

Reception.

We have a word for forever. It isn’t “included.”

How much, and how long?
Kiki.

Both depend on what we’re making. We define the work with you, then agree on a quote and schedule before starting.

Reception.

I asked for a number. She asked for a brief.

Will I be on a maintenance plan?
Kiki.

No maintenance plans. Ever. We hand over your site at launch. If you need something else later, we’ll scope it as a separate project.

Reception.

We like you. We’d also love to miss you.

Where’s the portfolio?
Kristian.

You’re looking at our introduction. Work will follow. For now, the way this site looks, reads and behaves is how we’re introducing ourselves.

Kiki.

For now, you’re standing in the portfolio.

Your move.

A good idea. A site that’s seen better days. A very specific itch. Tell the receptionist.

Two people in Montréal. A few opinions everywhere.

Um, hello.
